Step-By-Step Guide
1. Wash your face with a cleanser and pat it dry so your skin is clean, fresh, and ready
2. Place the device comfortably over your face. For a more secure fit, secure the velcro part of the mask at the top of your head and position it higher before tightening the straps.
3. Press and hold the power button for 2-3 seconds until the indicator light turns on
4. Choose your treatment mode by pressing the Mode button. After selecting your mode the display will auto show the timer
5. Once your treatment is done, remove the mask and apply your skincare
Red light therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses targeted wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to stimulate the skin’s natural repair processes. This light energy travels beneath the skin, where it’s then absorbed by cells and helps them function more efficiently.
When red and near-infrared light reaches the skin, it’s absorbed by the mitochondria – the tiny inside cells that act as their power source. This light exposure helps mitochondria produce more ATP (adenosine triphosphate), essentially the fuel cells use to do their job. With more energy available, cells are better able to regenerate and restore skin tissue.
Red light (around 660nm) works closer to the skin’s surface, which is why it’s often used to improve tone, texture, and elasticity. Near-infrared light (around 850nm) penetrates deeper into tissue, making it useful for supporting circulation, recovery, and deeper cellular repair. Used together, these wavelengths allow light therapy to work both at the surface and beneath it.
Recommended Use: 3–5 times per week for 3–6 minutes per session
We recommend using the mask 3–5 times per week for either 3 or 6 minutes per session. While a 3-minute express session is the minimum needed for great results, you can extend it to 6 minutes when your skin needs an extra boost! Because our mask uses safe, non-heating wavelengths, it is safe for daily use.
Before first use, charge the controller for 5 hours by connecting the USB Type-C cable to the control box port and a compatible power source.
- Prepare the adapter: Insert the Type-C charging cable into a standard 5V charging adapter. Note: Fast chargers are not compatible with our older batch of masks.
- Connect to device: Plug the other end of the cable into the neck insert on the control box.
- Verify charging: The controller will display flashing "88" to indicate charging has started.
Charge time: Approximately 3 hours for a full charge (controller displays "88" when complete).
Usage note: The device cannot be used while the control box is charging.
Battery life: One full charge supports 5–8 sessions (about 15–24 minutes total use).
Full charge provides the following usage based on model:
- 3 min sessions: 32 times per full charge (96 mins total)
- 6 min sessions: 18 times (108 minutes total)
Press the power button to cycle through the LumaLux Pro Mask’s 8 treatment modes and select your preference.
After each treatment, wipe the surface with a soft, damp cloth to sanitize it for your next use—avoiding harsh cleaners or submerging it in water—and always store the mask in the provided luxury storage bag in a cool, dry environment.
Troubleshooting Guide
Need help? Most common issues are quick and easy to fix.
Device Not Powering Up?
Press and Hold: Try holding down the power button for a few seconds longer to turn it on.
Check the Connections: Ensure the controller is securely plugged directly into the mask; turning on the controller by itself will not power the device.
Remove the mask from the charging cable, as the mask cannot be used while plugged in.
Verify the Charge: Make sure the device is fully charged (the indicator light will blink while charging).
Isolate the Issue: Still nothing? Try a different outlet or charging cable to rule out power issues.
If the Mask Shuts Off Early
Check the Timer: The treatment is programmed to auto-stop after 3 minutes. If it shuts off before the 3 minutes are up, your mask likely needs a full recharge.
Q: How long does it take to see results with LED light therapy?
A: Results vary depending on the concern addressed. Relief from acne-prone skin, redness, and irritation may be immediate, while the long-term collagen-boosting impacts of red and infrared light therapy may take 2-3 months to take effect fully. Consistency of treatment is key to long-term and sustained skin results
Q: Does the LumaLux Face come with a warranty?
A: Yes, the device comes with a two-year warranty against manufacturer defects as well as a 60-day love it or return it guarantee
Q: Can I use LED light therapy every day?
A: We recommend using the mask 3-5 times per week for 3-6 minutes sessions. LED light therapy is safe and effective for daily use, though it is not recommended to exceed the advised treatment time in any one session.
Q: Is it possible to use multiple LED colors in one treatment?
A: Each treatment mode is set for 3-6 minute session. As LumaLux has a high power density with multiple LEDs we recommend limiting your treatment to two modes per day per treatment area. Exceeding this time will not provide better results and protects your skin from any potential irritation
